Great Places Housing Group has arranged a third open day at its flagship Manchester regeneration area of Northmoor to meet high demand for tours.
Two original open days on Thursday 26 February and Thursday 5 March are now full, with visitors from all over the UK expected.
Now places are available on the new date of Monday 16 March – but they are being claimed quickly.
The get-togethers at Northmoor, part of Longsight, have been arranged by Great Places to inspire other regeneration professionals and residents of areas undergoing changes.
They will feature presentations and discussion at Northmoor Community Centre, a stroll around the neighbourhood and lunch. Residents and housing and development experts will explain the area’s 10-year transformation.
Events are part of Great Places’ year-long knowledge-sharing efforts after the group won a highly-prized Gold Award from the Housing Corporation in the category of ‘delivering joined-up development’.
A decade of investment totalling more than £20m has turned the dense Victorian district into a thriving 21st Century neighbourhood. Manchester Methodist Housing Association, part of Great Places, and Manchester City Council have worked with about 15 other partners to deliver improvements.
Matthew Harrison, deputy chief executive and director of development at Great Places Housing Group, said: “We can’t wait to welcome visitors and we’ve been delighted with response so far. We’re only too happy to put on another open day so that everybody who wants to see Northmoor will get a chance.” |
